After attending the advanced armorer class at Glock in Smyrna back in early March, I was sufficiently persuaded of the virtues of the Gen 6 that I decided to buy a G19. I have never been a Glock fan boy, but I have owned several and carried a Gen 4 G20 as a duty gun for 6 years. I never loved them, although I respected them.
This Gen 6 G19 was the first Glock I actually started to *REALLY* like. I bought it a little less than 2 months ago and had roughly 800-1000 rounds through it. I put a Vortex Defender XL green dot on it.
Today I shot my first GSSF match. I didn't shoot quite as well as I expected, but not terrible either. I sat down to clean the gun when I got home and discovered that the optic was loose. Like, REALLY loose, to the point it was rattling around. Of course I had used blue Loctite. I couldn't imagine the screws back out, but evidently they had. I made a video of how loose it was to send to a friend.
When I got the gun apart and took the optic off, I was astonished to find a chip at the top of the threads of one of the screw holes for the optic! Man, I am soooo disappointed. Here I was, really lovin' on this gun and pretty jazzed about it. This blows! Ah well.
I didn't activate the warranty within 30 days, which is apparently required (at least I don't remember doing it). Hopefully I'm not screwed on the warranty.
Please see the short video and photo. Actually, I apparently can't attach both, so here's just the photo.
