Nervepain bottom right due to molar top right?

So, I mustered the courage to have the cavity of my top right molar fixed 2 weeks ago on april 13th. The cavity was pretty big because it occurred on the side touching my wisdom tooth. The wisdom tooth has been out since January.

However, on Saturday, the 18th, my bottom right, 1st molar, got really sharp pains that caused me to sweat and jump. Since then, the pain comes and is more dull. So I went to a different dentist as my dentist wasn't available. This dentist told me, after pictures, my top right molar needs a root canal in order to fix the pain in my bottom right 1st molar. I'll go on holiday soon so I have to take painkillers for the next 2.5 weeks. However, it sounds so strange that my top right molar causes this much pain in my bottom 1st molar. My top molars don't hurt currently...

Can someone help me get on the right track? Will my pain indeed be fixed with a root canal top right, or do I need another consult/pictures when I get back from holiday. Any tips on pain management will also be appreciated.

Thank you!
