I know this won’t help everyone, but even if it helps one of you of you it is worth sharing.
I was also hacked this week and could not get past the 2FA loop. I tried all the suggestions after reading all the posts on here but nothing was working.
Then I read a suggestion to try logging in from an old device which would be recognised by FB as a ‘trusted device’.
I wasn’t holding much hope as I have been using my current iPhone and iPad for well over a year, so I thought they would be trusted devices, (I’m not very up on tech, so I wasn’t sure how it all works for a device to be trusted) but I thought it was worth a try. I still had my old broken iPhone at the back of a drawer, so I took it to be fixed and thankfully remembered the screen code. I went through the same self video verification process but this time the screens all looked slightly different, and instead of just telling me the video had been submitted, I could see it was instantly processing, and within about 10 seconds I got the result. My first try rejected but on the second try my identity was confirmed and I was able to follow the next steps to get back into my account. I have now installed 2FAS myself and FB have given my account a mandatory advanced protection status.
The difference was obviously that my old iPhone was recognised as a trusted device by FB whereas my current phone and iPad were not. So if you have an old device definitely give it a try.
Btw I have read that getting Meta verified in order to get online support has helped a lot of people so definitely try that if you havnt got an old device.
Good luck everyone, I understand how stressful and time consuming it is to be hacked in this way, and end up in this never ending loop of getting nowhere, so I hope this helps at least one of you.
