UPDATE to wait time for response after confession, idk if he saw the note

UPDATE: I have posted a screenshot of his response. Since the confession was quite brief and buried in talk of his great friendship to me, I’m not sure if it’s a friendzone or not. I think it is, but my friend says I should text him to ask if it is/he read it all rather than simply assuming.
UPDATE2: to my advising friend’s surprise, I was correct, that the guy just wanted to be friends. I followed up his message by thanking him for being polite about it, and he said that he knows how hard it can be to confess to someone. All in all, I’m not very surprised because I did think hed reject me, but I am quite pleasantly surprised that it went so well - I was a bit worried hed be a dick about it. Not cause he’s mean, but sometimes high schoolers are jerks about that stuff. I should’ve known he’d be nice about it though. Anyways, he seems to be happy about the other content, and not uncomfortable, and his happiness regardless of whether it was mutual or not is what I valued over reciprocation, so I’m satisfied, even if it’s not a mutual feeling. Thank you for all the advice guys, especially everyone who commented on my original post. I think I’m going to be able to get over this quite easy due to all the kindness I’ve received through this, from my friend, from the guy, and from everyone on here.
Edit to add: hey, I’m sorry I’ve not been able to get round to everyone’s comments - as I’ve mentioned in my first post (and the guy implied in his text), I have some exams right now - GCSE’s to be precise - so I’m a little scattered. That being said, I’ve read all of them, and I’m so insanely thankful to everyone who took timeout of their day to offer me some advice or some comfort. A few people have said that something might happen in the future - it’s a nice thought but I won’t get my hopes up. That being said, please keep telling me stories in the comments about you guys’ relationships. They’re super cute!! Also, a minor update, is that I only told one friend because I was wasnt sure how my other friends would react - but I told one of my closest friends today and she was really supportive about it. I’ll try and reply when I can. Thank you all again.
