Looking for suggestions/advice. Had Spectrum install their gig internet last night. This will primarily be used for gaming. All current tests have been on an X Box One. After installation the download test speeds have stayed between 3-400 mbps. Ran Cat6 Ethernet cables between the modem/router and Xbox/router….speeds were slightly faster than WiFi but still sit around 400-430.
Tech support had us restart things, ran a firmware update, had us put in custom DNS settings, bunch of stuff that didn’t do anything.
So right now, the speed tests on the Xbox one and my iPhone 16 pro both come back in that 3-400 window. Spectrum says that the modem/router are both pushing 1000mbps on their end.
I do have an Xbox series X that I will be running these troubleshooting steps on tonight, just to rule out the possibility that the Xbox one can’t keep up due to age. But I don’t think that would be the problem considering the iphone 16 pro had similar results and it’s a fairly new phone.
Sorry for the long post, just figured someone might have some insight, perhaps it’s something stupid I’m missing
