New to me 1999 "Highlander" Edition, 164k, auto. Body and interior are pretty nice, but mechanically... woof. It's been neglected and needs a little bit of everything. Frame is okay, needs one body mount welded. Already fixed the transmission that wouldn't shift for <$100 by swapping/flushing the fluid that was too low and cleaning the burnt nasty trans pan (think it was just left 2 qts low for too long). Tightened the valve covers which stopped the long-term oil leaks which dripped onto everything in the front end. Onto the front end now-> ball joints, tie rods, control arms, steering rack bushings, sway bar bushings. Then swapping the rear axle (already got a replacement), brakes/lines, timing belt.

It's a lot of work, but every time I look at it I think this beautiful piece of shit is too cool to let rot into the ground!
