I think we all agree Chan Ho Park for 5 years 65 million was clearly the worst FA signing after never posting a single sub 5.5 ERA season as a Ranger.

I had remembered how much we all hated Lance Berkmans very brief time here but it’s hilarious looking back at the numbers he slashed .242/.340/.359 for a .700 OPS, not great but at worst passable numbers for a DH.

Now how about Joc, well he’d probably kill to have numbers like lance lmao. Everyone was hoping this guy would have a bounce back season, but he’s been miserable once again slashing .207/.306/.293 for a putrid .599 OPS 33 games into his season.

This of course somehow worse than his abysmal season last year that nobody thought could be possible when he slashed .181/.285/.328 for somehow a laughably higher .613 OPS. All this while being given the platoon advantage in almost every AB he’s had as he’s faced nearly exclusively RHP (16/347 ABs are vs LHP).

And oh yeah of course he can’t field a single defensive position competently as strictly a DH and also is a negative on the bases given his rotund build. Two things we all already knew about him before he played a game, but just further demonstrating his 0 tool skillset as a Ranger.

Then when you consider how ownership slashed the payroll after the World Series, almost all of the available funds CY had been given to upgrade the offense went towards this guy, and in return he’s provided absolutely nothing at all, it really just seals the deal.

Joc Pederson at 2 years 37 million easily the worst FA contract in Rangers history for a hitter. And he can thank Chan Ho Park for not owning the outright worst contract in Rangers history, so good for him I guess. Anyways I very much look forward to the day this bonafide scrub is off of my favorite baseball team, and will forever dislike him for playing a big part in the Rangers contention window swiftly sealing shut following 2023.
