Is getting sober actually worth it??

Been sober for 60 days now with original plans of hitting at least 90 days or more ambitiously, going 1 full year and honestly think I could do at least the 90 days.

TBH, the first couple weeks sucked but once past those, it got a lot easier. And I have lots of positives happening so far: I’ve lost weight, I’m exercising more, I have more motivation overall and my relationship with my wife is better.

BUT, I can’t ever relax. Even with a drink or a few at night, I can’t really unwind. I’m also bored as shit. I’m going through the motions and doing everything I’ve mentioned but overall I feel pretty bored all the time. Maybe life is just kinda boring most of the time and the weed muted it all that and now I’m actually living it?

Not sure but if anyone has been sober for longer than me after having smoked for a long time (I was a daily used for 20+ years) I’d really appreciate some advice and insight. Is it worth it?

I think it is. I want to stick it out and see what sobriety and rewiring my brain can do but I have my doubts and life is short. Maybe we’re just supposed to have fun and enjoy
