Hik-Connect Phone App issue with cellular connection only
I’m stumped. I’m wondering if anyone has #3 setup and working.
1. The NVR is on local protected network. Hik-Connect app works fine when connected via local WiFi.
2. Connecting from an external Wi-Fi (friends’ house), I can VPN (using WireGuard) to my network and Hik-Connect works fine. No issues.
3. Disconnecting WiFi and only use Cellular service. I can VPN to my network. Hik-Connect tells me I’m “offline”. I can open a browser (on the phone), connect directly to the NVR using the IP address without any issue!
Since I can use the browser (while on Cellular VPN), tells me that I have a good connection, so my issue is either with the cellular network blocking a port/MTU, or with Hik-Connect wanting to go to Hikvision cloud first.
I tested different ports/MTU and different cellular service providers, that didn’t make a difference. Thus, I am suspecting it is Hik-Connect. Any suggestion or idea to try to solve this issue?
