Title.

I bought a Hisense 50 pt. dehumidifier with pump from Lowe's 2 weeks back to help with high humidity in my basement (i.e., musty smell and finding lots of random bugs). I have been running it on the "Manual Set" at 35 and auto fan. I find that it still runs even when it is well below the target humidity. It does seem to turn off with the "Auto Dry" mode but I find my basement still smells very musty at 50. I did try unplugging the unit for 10 minutes to restart, but it still happens.

Do I have a faulty unit? Is there anything else I could try?
