Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my recent experience navigating the 2026 MacBook lineup. Just to be clear: I am not a professional or paid YouTuber. I’m just a tech enthusiast who bought these three machines with my own money to see how they actually perform in daily life. To see which one(s) were the best fit for me.

I spent about 10 minutes doing a "Quick Look" at each machine to see how they stack up for a regular user:

  • MacBook Neo: The entry-point experience.
  • MacBook Air (M5): The portability king.
  • MacBook Pro (M4 Pro): The power-user choice with that nano-texture display.

After testing all three, I decided to keep two and return one. It wasn't necessarily about which one had the highest Geekbench scores, but about which ones felt right for my specific workflow (I do a bit of fire safety training and some hobbyist video editing).

I’ve put together a series of three short "Quick Look" videos on my hobby channel, Technically Simon, explaining the reasoning behind my choices and showing what I thought of the MacBooks. It is my personal thoughts, so may not be yours.

If you’re interested in seeing the comparison or why I returned the one I did, you can find the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@TechnicallySimon

I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the real-world feel of these devices—especially if you're trying to decide between the Air and the Pro right now!
