I set up a mic processing chain in Equalizer APO using VST plugins:
- 2x basiQ
- 2x SweetDrums
- 1x LOVEND
- slight preamp gain
Everything is installed correctly on my microphone device.
Here’s what happens:
- If I turn the plugins ON, I hear the effected/processed voice.
- If I turn the plugins OFF, I hear my normal voice.
- If I record audio and play it back on my PC, the recording changes depending on whether the plugins are ON or OFF:
- ON = processed/effected voice
- OFF = normal voice
But:
- Discord
- Roblox
- browser mic tests
- basically any app using my mic
…all still hear my normal raw microphone, whether the plugins are ON or OFF.
So Equalizer APO is clearly affecting what I hear locally / local playback, but not what other apps receive from the mic.
Am I misunderstanding how Equalizer APO works on microphones?
And what’s the proper way to make apps actually hear the processed mic signal instead of the raw mic?
