Hi!

I wanted to see if there would be any interest to set up a group in Clare to play some TTRPGs semi regularly (probably one shots only for now at least). I am happy to GM Dungeons and Dragons and am based in Ennis myself. I have already met a couple people interested in it so far, so I figured I may see if more are up for it! Mid week would probably be better for me, but I may also be free depending on the weekend.

Please also feel free to let me know if you know anywhere quiet which could host 1 or 2 tables (7-14 people) for a sensible fee!

Thanks in advance, and hopefully plenty of people will be interested in rolling some shiny math rocks!

[Edit] Just in case you are worried, there is no previous experience required and beginners will be more than welcome!

Does anyone have experience with Hustle gym in Ennis?

My wife and I are debating joining up but wanted to see if anybody goes there or can recommend it?

Thanks

Putting together a proper list of things happening around Clare this May bank holiday weekend for anyone around or visiting. Add anything I’ve missed

Events & Festivals On

  • Viking Invasion of Craggaunowen (May 2–3) Live battle reenactments, Viking village, shield drills for kids – proper interactive day out.
  • Ennistymon Rivers Festival (May 1–3) Mix of guided walks, kayaking, talks, music, and even a night bat walk + dawn chorus events.
  • Joanie Madden’s May Day Festival – Miltown Malbay (May 1–4) Brand new trad-heavy festival with sessions, concerts, dancing, workshops.
  • Festival of Finn – Corofin (Apr 30–May 4) One of the bigger local festivals – music, food, games, parade, random chaos like stone-throwing competitions.
  • Bodyke Annual Festival (May 2–4) Community festival with live music, market, sports events and a big social vibe.
  • Newmarket-on-Fergus Agricultural Show – Dromoland (May 3) Full-on country show with cattle + horse showing, trade stands, food, vintage bits — and a dog show (around 12:30)

Other bits happening / worth knowing

  • Clare vs Limerick championship match on the Sunday – pubs/towns will be lively (even if you’re not going).
  • Trad sessions all weekend across Doolin, Ennis, Miltown – basically guaranteed.
  • Expect most towns to be busy if weather is decent.

Add anything I’ve missed or that you know about
