Hey everyone! I'm new to the thinkpad scene and i just picked up a used T490 for $100 cad with the sole purpose of putting arch Linux on it with hyprland (OmarchyOS)

and i kinda regret it a little bit as the screen sucks and the touchpad is AWFUL..

figured id post and see if anyone has done a touch pad replacement or has any insight as to how i can make the touchpad more responsive as it currently feels like the cursor is moving in mud.. i would even entertain the idea of upgrading to a glass touchpad if anyone can give me insight on that aswel? hope i can make this perchase feel better then this.

on top of that the scrolling feels quite choppy but could just be becasue of the 60htz panel

Hey everyone!

just posting somthing quick regarding a question and want to see what the community thinks is a better idea

I am currently running OmarchyOS on my Macbook Air 7, 2 (early 2015 i think) and while it runs okay it can definitely be sluggish at times and CPU spikes are crazy causing quite the heat up.. however i did get this computer for FREE

now my question is.. what kind of gains or there lack of would i see if i picked up a Thinkpad T490.. there is one local to me for 100 CAD and im wondering if its worth the upgrade? it would also be running Omarchy / Arch
