Can i get a Vermont license as a UVM student? I had my NY state permit, then went to take the test at a Vermont DMV and they said I needed a Vermont permit. I then got my Vermont permit, and plan to take my test tomorrow. I’m just a little nervous because ive seen conflicting sources whether a student is considered a resident. I live in a dorm and have all the documents to prove that Vermont is my residence. Will this be enough proof that im a Vermont resident?
Also, starting next semester I’ll be living in a different off-campus apartment so im wondering which address i should declare to be shown on my actual drivers license: my current dorm address which i have the documents proving i live here, or my apartment which i wont be living in for another 3 months.
I’m not getting my license for in-state tuition, it’s just easier to take the test in Vermont, plus insurance for a Vermonter is much cheaper than NY insurance.
