Anybody else questioning hat prices these days?

Not trying to sound cheap or anything here but I’m getting blown away by some of these hat prices I’m seeing lately.

I’ve been looking at hats and feeling overwhelmed about the price of some of them for years and years now and have absolutely come to the conclusion I’ll never be able to financially afford a custom hat. That’s when I was seeing max $700 for some of the hats I liked.

Here lately I’ve been watching some of the circus shows they’re putting on to make hats and they’re charging $1200. Like, “other than smacking some knives on the hibachi you didn’t do much to that shrimp you landed on aunt Ethel’s Sunday dress…” Literally bent the brim and indented the crown, put a piece of worn out burlap on as a hat band and set that fucker on fire. That’ll be $1350.

I get the videos are edited, but it literally less than a 5min video most times and these hats are only 1 off because they don’t burn the same. Otherwise, they’ve made 15 of them in the last week. Yes I understand there’s different materials and whatnot but for a basic felt hat? Like, I felt rich dropping $120 on my straw pork pie. Starting at $500 and having nothing less in your shop is insane to me.
