i dont know what to do

I missed a compulsory industry talk that was part of my module’s CA1, and today I approached my lecturer to ask what I could do to make up for it. Instead of just discussing the consequences, the conversation turned into an interrogation and the matter got escalated to my Programme Chair and other senior staff.

What’s stressing me out is that this could affect my GPA and even my chances of receiving awards I was nominated for.

For context, I’ve been overwhelmed with multiple commitments recently and honestly haven’t been coping with stress very well. Because I panicked during the conversation, I gave the wrong explanation for why I missed the talk, which made things worse. Now I’m also being questioned about the meeting that I didn’t attend, and what is so important that I skipped something (which was at 5pm btw ppl have lots of commitments) What was worse is that the meeting wasn’t even recorded hais.

The frustrating part is that many people I know either didn’t attend the talk, left halfway, or attended without really paying attention, but I feel like the situation surrounding me has escalated disproportionately.

I know I made a mistake by missing the session and by not explaining myself properly, but right now I just feel extremely overwhelmed and scared about how badly this might impact my future.

I’m currently a Year 3 Semester 1 student in a related diploma course at poly, and I’m hoping to apply for SIT Physiotherapy. I was wondering what current SIT physio students (or honestly, students from any degree programme) did to strengthen your application?

For context, I’m trying to build my portfolio through volunteering, shadowing, and relevant experience, but I’m not sure what really stands out to admissions.

Would appreciate any advice or insights, thank you!
