Sleep Training for Twins

My wife and I have twins (7.5 months old, 6 months adjusted) and our pediatrician raised the concept of sleep training in order to reduce the number of night feeds from 2 to 1 (currently the two biggest feeds volume-wise, feed every 2-3 hours during the day). My wife is very distressed at the concept and logistics of sleep training, so two sets of questions:

  1. How have y’all reduced the need for nighttime interventions? Any advice on methods or lessons learned?
  2. The twins share the only other bedroom in the house, if we sleep train, how do you handle the impact on the baby that did not start crying or fussing in the night?

We are trying to minimize impact on them while also trying to get some sleep for tired parents! Any help is greatly appreciated!
