After working on an MVP for 6 months, my technical cofounder is not treating my idea as a business. For some context, he runs his own software engineering firm and has been working on this “project” which I believe can be a real company and solves a business problem. He keeps saying he is busy all the time, either with his kids or work.

I need someone to pickup where he left off as he left a detailed file on how to continue our startup. I don’t believe he even signed a business document that I gave him.

I really do believe this idea solves a business problem and I can show the site to someone who wants to take over his position.

If I could code, I would do it myself, but that’s my biggest pain point. The idea is fairly simple, I’m just missing that person who is going to execute the idea. It’s also a bonus if the other person is business savvy as well.

To reiterate, they would just be continuing what the cofounder left off.

I’ve tried doing a start up already and my first business partner is great, but I feel like we both have different priorities since he runs his own software firm and essentially uses it to help run our business. I was thinking since it was taking him such a long time do finish things to start another business.

This time I’m looking for someone with capital and someone who is like minded. I like to start a business purchasing a commercial vehicle and retrofit it. I feel like I can do it myself but scared of failing such a huge idea.

I’m based in NJ, and I just can’t find anyone who buys into the vision.

I like doing business with another partner since I don’t have a lot of experience. Do most people find a partner or do it themselves?
