This is my first IUI and I’m nervous about timing and wondering if anyone has been in the same boat as me.
I took clomid CD 3-7 and was scheduled for my first monitoring appt on CD 11 but on CD 8 I did an OPK and it looked like my LH was starting to rise early so I called my clinic and went in on CD 9 for monitoring instead. Doc said my LH was slightly elevated but she wondered if it was my normal LH level and I had two follicles - 17mm and 11mm so she wanted to give the 17mm one another day to grow before triggering. So I triggered tonight (CD 11) and go in for IUI tomorrow at 1115. I’ve done OPKs twice a day since that first one, and my LH has seemed erratic compared to what it normally is - the line is slightly darker, then lighter, then darker again - but never got a true positive reading.
However, my temperature dropped this morning! Now, I only started taking my temp a few days ago after taking a break from doing it so I don’t know how much I can rely on my BBT, but usually my temp drops for one day and then the next day rises again, confirming ovulation. So nooowwwww I’m worried that the IUI should’ve been today and tomorrow will be too late 😭🫠
Now, I have read that it can be beneficial for IUI to happen after ovulation, because the first 6 hours the egg can’t be fertilized anyway, but obviously it matters if it’s too much after because the egg only survives for 12-24 hours.
Anyway, now I’m kind of spiraling and worried that tomorrow is too late. We are using frozen sperm so I have to call an hour ahead of time to give consent for them to thaw the sample, so if it’s too late, that’s a sample wasted 😭
Any success stories for anyone who thought they could’ve ovulated the day before their scheduled IUI??
