Before I get hate - I know I know go local. M

My client loved the “sea glass” and wanted it more than anything else. Bummer.

Anyways I installed great quality local cabinets. All perfectly level.

Order countertops: 4500 for 56 sqft fine.

Countertop sub from Lowes comes in for templating. All goes good.

Then the customer gets a change order for an extra 2500 for a one inch subtop. They state it needs stripping to be built up.

Brings up the price to 7K for solid surface.

Seems crazy to me. I call Lowe’s and the countertop place up ask to take the subtop off as I will do it and they say it’s required and they are required to do it.

I call up the manufacturer - they tell me it’s not required.

Lowe’s guy says he’s never seen it before and this company is new to Lowe’s

Countertop guy says he’s worked with this Lowe’s for 19 years and it’s standard.

Are they just trying to hose us?

Hoping to cancel as it seems Sketchy.
