I’m a little confused with the questions in UC claim application. Me and my husband live together but I am applying as a single claimant as he has a spouse visa( so no recourse to public funds). The tricky part is I’m on maternity leave at the moment but it has asked my salary and his, although I did also write that I’m receiving maternity pay? Do I select ‘employed’ even if im planning to resign soon at the end of my mat leave?
I live in London and have been working as an account manager for the past two years. I went on maternity leave last November and it’s been really tough for me and my husband to cover the rent, bills and utilities we just about make it to the end of the month. We now have a kid and expenses have increased, we are not able to afford childcare so initially I’ll be an at home mom unless I can find something that’s part time work from home. My husband is on spouse visa and has a full time job paying about 28k. I think the spouse visa has a condition ‘no recourse to public funds’ but can I apply for UC? I understand that it’s a joint application but will there be any issues with my husband’s visa renewal?
