Guys two days ago I was lane filtering and the guy on the left lane opened his door all of a sudden and I hit the door.

I have a full license and I was under 30ks at the same time the traffic was stationary at a red signal

The issue is I don't have insurance and the car guy insurance company is saying that I am at fault here and I have to pay the damages but honestly I checked chatgpt and NSW rules as well I am pretty sure I am not at fault it his mistake for opening the door into incoming traffic.

Can some enlighten me or help me with this
