So I’m international (undergrad) and I recently got into Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in Korea (full ride), but I really don’t know whether to commit or not because still waiting the results from CityU. I already got the offer from CityU for physics in February (also full ride) but had to decline it because they refused my request for deadline extension. Now, I don’t know what to do. I want to study physics/chemistry and love engineering. I never have done research, but I think it’s pretty good and interesting, so I guess I am gonna do it in future. Dgist has much more exchange programs (full tuition+dorm in the summer at harvard, up Berkeley, Cambridge, and research with ivy tier professors), but CityU has more prestige because of higher rankings (don’t know if the qs ranking even worthy to consider) About party life, I don’t care that much. I think Korea is greater for domestic travelling and culture exchange, but hk seems to have more activities. But I am not strongly interested, so bare minimum will be enough. Also, heard that CityU has reputation of a party school, so I guess it’s a disadvantage if I want to do deep research. What interests me more is that I will have to collect dorm points at CityU but Dgist doesn’t do this stuff, so I will be more free at Korea. The funding is approximately the same - full tuition and around ~450$ a month stipend(and I can apply for merit based scholarship at Dgist which is also around 450$). CityU has more expensive and 4-people dorms though, while Dgist has cheaper 2-people ones. Can someone please help me😢
