Hi everyone, I’m just looking for some reassurance or similar experiences because I’m feeling a bit lost right now.
I have PCOS and for years I had very irregular/no periods, but over the last year they’ve become regular (around a 29-day cycle). I’ve been TTC and recently started treatment.
Last cycle I took Letrozole (2.5mg twice daily CD3–7). I had what felt like strong progesterone symptoms after (really sore breasts, fatigue, etc.) but unfortunately it didn’t result in pregnancy.
This current cycle, I did Letrozole again but went for a scan on CD10 and was told I had multiple small follicles (MSF) and nothing was really growing. I went back again and they said my follicles weren’t responding and to try again next month with injections instead.
I’m also overweight, but I am actively trying to lose weight and improve things (walking more, reducing sugar, etc.). My doctor mentioned insulin resistance possibly affecting Letrozole response, which has made me overthink everything I’ve been eating lately.
I’m feeling really discouraged because:
I feel like my body “almost worked” last time but not this time
I keep blaming myself (diet, stress, etc.) even though I know PCOS plays a big role
I’m nervous about moving to injections but also hopeful
I guess I just want to know:
Has anyone with PCOS not responded to Letrozole but had success with injections?
How many cycles did it take you?
Im 26. But part of me worries it’s too late or that I’ve already messed things up with how overweight I am, and not doing enough when I wasn’t having a period at all. The doctor didn’t know what to do and just put me on provera for 2years
Would really appreciate any experiences or advice 🤍
