I cannot for the life of me figure out what this is. Is it just a funky rock with a hole going straight through it? Is it some sort of partially mineralized bone, or something else entirely..? At around 2 1/2 inches long, the feel / texture on the lighter colored top side is rough. It almost resembles bone that’s been sun bleached, but it’s not flakey; Nor does it feel fragile. That side also appears to have these small rodent gnawing-esque marks. Those marks are not present on any other side however. The interior tunnel is quite smooth by comparison. For context, this was found in North Carolina.
