Hi! I’m trying to find boots with this vibe but better for everyday wear - ideally orthopedic or at least a bit of support.

I have transitioned from wearing steel caps (soooo supportive) to an office job

Looking for:

  • Taller shalft than regular Chelsea boot (cover skin for winter)
  • sleek, minimal (no detailing)
  • Ideally under $100, but for a good everyday boot i'll go up
  • block heel ~5–6cm (nothing too tall)

Issue is all the fashion ones I’ve tried (like Windsor Smith) have no support and feel hard/uncomfortable.

Does this even exist 😭 or any brands I should look at?

Thank you!!

I’d really love some honest insight from people working in events and/or marketing because I’m feeling a bit stuck and unsure where I fit.

A bit about me – I’m currently studying a diploma of marketing. I have done event/activity organising but unfortunately due to the workplace I could not continue. I enjoyed working with kids, and planning their events and activities. I have also done graphic design but it was only part time so wasn't too mind numbing. Right now I am working full time marketing & community job - which I thought was my dream job but in reality I am sitting in front of a computer for 9hrs a day - and I have ADHD :')

I’ve realised I’m someone who needs variety, people interaction, and a bit of energy in my workday. Sitting at a desk doing repetitive or overly detailed tasks drains me pretty quickly, even if I can do the work well. I’m still trying to figure out what balance of structure vs flexibility actually suits me.

I’m really drawn to events because they seem more dynamic, creative, and hands-on, but I don’t know if that’s the reality or just how it looks from the outside. Same with marketing – some roles seem really creative and campaign-focused, while others look very data-heavy and technical. I also worry about large scale events and the pressure involved.

I have just realised my work environment and process matter to my silly brain a lot more than the actual work.

I guess my questions are:

  • What does your day-to-day actually look like in events or marketing?
  • Please tell me about your job / experiences so I can have some more insight
  • For marketing roles, how do you find the balance between creative vs analytical work?
  • Are there certain roles or areas you’d recommend for someone who likes creativity, variety, and small doses of people interaction?
  • If you’ve felt similar (needing stimulation, struggling with repetitive work), where did you end up?

Hi all! What are we all doing for work?

I used to have 3 jobs (social media, events and graphic design) and it was all over the place but I felt accomplished being busy and having variety in my life - Now I finally got a full time marketing gig and I am just sitting at a computer for 9 hrs a day and it's killing me. I cannot focus on anything; there's no deadlines and urgency to actually FORCE me to work. I like the full time benefits and the hours are fine if I have something I am actually owning/focused on... but sitting checking my 2 emails all day ain't hitting the spot.

I have headphones, WFH days, going to the gym, hobbies, fidgets at my desk - but struggling.

It's an amazing job, at an amazing company with decent pay and benefits... but I am miserable. help!
