My partner will visit his family every couple of months (they live 2+ hours away) and he'll stay there for 2 weeks in his parents spare home (they've been meaning to Airbnb it but just never got around to it.)
His mum has never liked me (she basically believed I turned her straight son gay...). However, when he goes home, his mum will move into the spare house with him (despite living a 10 minute drive away.) and stay there for the full 2 weeks. At one point, his dad tried to leave his mum because he felt their relationship was too close and it was like he was the spare part. They're then inseparable for 2 weeks, to the point it's hard to have a phone call with him because she's always there.
We've never discussed it before, but it came up tonight and I voiced that I found it a bit weird. He's really upset by this, but I can't help it... it is just weird. Now, I don't think anything weird is going on, I just think that she's a bit odd and tries to cling onto him...
Tell me this is weird and I'm not going nuts?! He's 30 years old...
