Okay, I might get some heat for this, but is it still a bad idea to grade cards that aren't in great shape? They aren't 'damaged' necessarily, but they definitely won't get a high grade. I was flipping through my old collection to see what’s worth subbing since there's a PSA facility where I live now. My more recent cards—mostly from the XY series, since I stopped collecting after that—are all in excellent condition.
However, I also have three 'Legend' halves: Lugia, Raikou & Suicune, and Entei & Suicune. They aren't in amazing condition because I’ve had them since the first or second grade and didn't use sleeves back then. The Lugia is definitely the worst of the bunch. I can try to improve the eye appeal by cleaning them carefully and flattening them out under some heavy books, but I’d guess they’d grade somewhere between a 1 and 7 for two of them, and maybe a 1 to 4 for the other. I have other high-value cards, but I'm mainly wondering if these specific ones are worth the grading fee.
