There's only one Jethro Tull album that I can't get into no matter what I try.

Title really. Out of ALL the albums, this one just doesn't do anything whatsoever for me and it's a shame. It's not that I despise it, I could listen to it at gun point but I'm completely indifferent to it, I feel no need to own it, nothing.

Shall we play a game? Why don't you try and guess which album I'm on about?

What "low ranking" Tull record do you love?

So from the general lists I've seen, the following albums are usually shat on:

Under wraps

Catfish rising

Rock island

J Tull dot com

The zealot gene

Curious ruminant

Roots to branches

Do you hate them? Love them? If so, why?

A bit worried about my wisdom teeth, black and grey stuff.

Hi all. So I'm a male in the UK, 37, and haven't been to the dentist since I was 15. After an emergency move away from the area I was registered to, I was struck off due to forgetfulness on my part and haven't been able to get a dentist since.

Knowing I could never afford to go private, I've attempted to take care of my teeth, flossing, brushing, never scrimped on toothpaste, mouth wash, etc etc. my wife however doesn't look after her teeth at all, brushes maybe once or twice a week, and she go one of them dental mirrors to check out the damage that's been done. I looked inside her mouth, and her wisdom teeth have all this dark grey stuff on the pits and fissures. I figured that was understandable due to the lack of care, however I checked mine out and it's the same!

I've always given a lot of care to them for this exact reason! I was shocked to see that mine has even more black/grey stuff compared to my wife's!

Anyway, it LOOKS like a hole, but it doesn't FEEL like a hole if you get me? There's no pain, nothing gets caught if I run a dentist pick (or whatever they're called) over the area. I've asked around and it's looking to be quite expensive (for me) to sort out. I have 3 kids and can barely afford the bills and stuff.

What I'm wondering is: if I got the home filling kit, would that work? I know they're temporary but it would at least give SOME kind of barrier right? Or is it more like trying to repair a moldy bathroom, you have to sort out the root cause rather than cover it up? I'm at a complete loss. And I'm SUPER scared of tooth abscesses, my dad is a pretty tough guy, and the only time I've ever seen him pray to God in tears was when he had one.

Do you collect CDs just because, or only for bands you're interested in?

I have a small collection of like 200 CDs and they're all for bands I'm interested in/albums I could listen to in full. I go looking at job lots and random cheap CDs just to pad out the collection but I'm left thinking "what's the point?". However, I've seen many people with collections of 10 thousand or however much, spread across many differing genres almost like a music shop and I wonder if they have listened to all of them or if they're collecting just for fun. I'm not asking this to deride anyone, just wondering really.

Give me your top 10 Tull songs and why.

Perhaps an impossible task, but it doesn't STRICTLY need to be your top 10, just give 10 songs you love and your reasonings (even if said reason is "just because...").

For me I'd choose:

Pussy willow - a controversial one maybe, but there's something so catchy and driving about this song. It's simple, it REEKS of the early 80s, but I just love Anderson's delivery.

Dark ages - this was my personal introduction to Tull being a completely different band to what I initially thought. Part atmospheric haunt, part driving rocker, ever relevant.

Baker st muse - a wonderfully rich number filled with dynamics, spit, sarcasm and wit. Each time I hear this it feels brand new.

Curious ruminant - A poignant song channelling a similar energy to deep purples "perfect strangers" but with more joyous overtones. Where Anderson loses his voice, he gains in wizened authority, with lines that resonate with me BIG time like "asking, why am I here? Answering, why am I anywhere".

Rover - there's something about this song that reminds me of the intro to iron maidens "the prophecy" even though they're literally nothing alike 😂 it captures a certain mood so well yet I can't even put my finger on it. I'm not sure if it's sad, hopeful, lonesome, strong, I don't know, but whatever it is it makes me tingle.

Saturation - as a massive cardiacs fan, this one is right up my street. A more heavy number with kooky organs throughout, my 7 year old daughter even loves this one!

Critique oblique - see the previous reasoning 😆

Velvet green - wonderful ditty and a ridiculously good ear worm.

My god - I wanted to avoid putting anything from aqualung here really, but I simply can't ignore this one. I can remember there being a flautist on tv or radio YEARS ago and he was "beat boxing" as he did it, and my dad said "pfft, Ian Anderson's been doing this for years", I was only young and had no idea who he was on about... Now I damn well know 😂. This whole song is wonderful, with all the doom of sabbath, the blues of deep purple, the pomp of Judas priest all rolled in to one (though this came out before priest but whatever) and the flute break? Each time I hear the little "yeh"'s and breaths make me giddy.

And finally I'll go with:

The mouse police never sleeps - it took a while for me to get into heavy horses due to judging the book by its cover, I couldn't understand how a horse album with horses on the front would be any good, "probably some wurzel shit".... I wasn't prepared for this wonderful album, and I knew there was something special when I finally gave it a chance.

Here's to one of the greatest bands of all time. Let's see your picks ladies and gents.
