How should I find a likeminded date as a nerd in a small country town?
I, (M23), live in a smaller town in Texas that is about an hour from Dallas. Finding people with similar interests has been difficult for me. Most of the “events” in my town are geared towards older folks or kids/teens, so it’s hard to put myself out there.
I’ve given multiple dating apps a shot, but most folks on them down here are looking for country guys or other folks of that type. (I didn’t have much luck with dating while in college either.) My friend group is all couples, and none of them have mutual friends to introduce me to.
Personally, I’d love to meet someone who also enjoys quieter activities like video games, going to the movies, binging shows together, etc. The unfortunate part is that most people like that are also homebodies like me, so it’s hard to find them.
To those who are/were in a similar situation, what has worked for you? Any and all advice is welcome
