Any advice on my satin stitch? Something looks not right about it to me (first time doing it). Should I try horizontal or vertical instead of diagonal?

What should I do for the IA if I keep going diagonal? Thanks!!

I’m new to needlepoint, done a few small projects. This is my first canvas I have painted on my own and wanting to give to my mom for Mother’s Day. I know the words got a little weird/close but any other feedback for me?

Also, what would be an easy decorative stitch that would look nice around the words (in white). Thank you in advance!!
