I’m 28 soon. On and off now long distance boyfriend withholds affection until I can “prove” to him that I can go without it for an indefinite amount of time. He says that I should not expect him to talk to me every day or initiate calls or do anything for me and he will only do it for me some day when I earn it from him. He lies to me about calling me “tomorrow” and then refuses to the next day when I ask him to follow through, then signs off for the day leaving me to cry. This repeats almost every week. This behaviour has made me feel suicidal. He blatantly withholds affection from me, especially when I need it or ask for it. I love him and I have never been in love before. How do I deal with this
