* **Razor:** Grand Shave King Self Lubricating

* **Post Shave:** Clubman Classic

* **Post Shave:** Osma Alum Block

* **Fragrance:** Stirling Clubman

First shave with the Grand Shave King. This razor is Henson Mild level smooth. Absolutely no bite and almost zero blade feel. The top cap open comb does indeed provide an extra bit of lubrication and although Stirling has never lacked in providing glide, this felt even smoother.

Of course this also means it is not the most efficient razor. I needed all three passes plus an almost complete 4th pass to get the shave I desire. Even with the extra pass there was zero alum or splash feedback.

I enjoy the double open comb razors. I have the Yaqi DOC Mellon as well as the RazoRock Daily DOC. Both are more aggressive and more efficient with much more blade feel than the Shave King.

I’ll definitely be revisiting this razor often. I may use a heftier handle next time - the aluminum is a bit too light for me.

* **Post Shave:** Osma - Alum Block

* **Bowl:** Leaf -

I decided to try a Mühle and jumped in at the budget end with the Neo. For under $30, this is a damn good razor. The handle has a silicon grip and is hefty. The head is the same as their R89 - a gentle closed comb classic. It delivered a very nice 3 pass shave but did require some buffing to get close to a BBS. I can see why the R89 is oft recommended as a good razor for beginning wet shavers.

On the road again. Driving home today and started out with a fine shave with this old Hoffritz travel razor. The head looks and performs like a Gillette Old Type and gave an excellent 3 pass shave.
