I’ve been wanting to get into Japanese denim for a while now, but every time I look at the big heritage brands like Iron Heart or Pure Blue Japan, I’m seeing price tags north of $300. I love the idea of the high quality construction and the way the fabric fades over time, but I’m just not at a point where I can drop a car payment on a pair of pants. I’m looking for a sweet spot. I’ve heard people mention Uniqlo’s selvedge line as a starter, and I’ve seen brands like Brave Star or Naked & Famous floating around, but I’m not sure if the quality drop is significant once you go under the $150 mark. I’m ready to commit to the break-in process, I just need to find the right pair to start with!

Hey everyone,
I’m currently living in Edmonton but I’m seriously planning to move to Calgary in the next few months and I’ll need to buy a place there. It’ll be my first home purchase so I want someone experienced who knows the Calgary market well, preferably someone who’s good with first-time buyers and can explain things clearly without rushing me.
I’ve been doing some research and found a calgary realtor who seems solid and has good recent reviews in the area. Still, I’d love to hear from locals or people who’ve bought/sold in Calgary recently.
I’ve been trying to get better at running, but I always hit a point where I have to stop and catch my breath. It feels like I’m stuck and not really improving much.
I’m not sure if it’s my pace, breathing, or just lack of endurance, but it gets frustrating when I can’t go as far as I want.
How did you build up your endurance when you started? And is it better to run slower for longer, or push harder even if you have to stop?
