Mayor's Budget
Can we talk about this budget?
Why is Mayor Wilson cutting 30% of shelter beds, and the county closing several shelters, so in reality we are losing close to HALF our beds? We have 9k people that are living unsheltered (not sure if this includes those in temp shetler?) and will end up with 1200-1500 beds total.
This is the opposite of what is needed in order to enforce Kotek's *special* camping law. This is the opposite of what has been done in San Francisco & CA. This is the opposite of what the Mayor Wilson is doing in Seattle.
What is our Mayor Wilson thinking? Is he trying to get the public to call his bluff or something?
Let's not forget Mayor Wilson only started enforcing camping in November 2025--6 mos ago.
