So I was stuck in traffic the other day and I noticed that my tire pressure indicator had lit up. This isn't unusual as I have one tire that has a known slow leak and about once a month I have to top up the air in the tire.

Other car manufacturers will list the tire pressure per tire in an analog display on the dash. And it got me wondering if I couldn't build a little display monitor to do the same thing.

I'm going to base it on an Arduino or esp32 style board, with a small LCD display. And the goal is to for it to show in real time what the tire pressure is for each tire using the existing OEM TPMS sensors. I've done a little research and it seems like it should be doable as long as I get the right RF frequencies and decode them properly.

Before I start I thought I would ask if anyone's done this before. I don't necessarily want to reinvent the wheel here if someone's already done the work.

My test bed would be my 2008 Toyota Prius with 130k miles.

Your thoughts?
