What rights does a daughter have where the mother had initiated proceedings for revocation of a gift deed against her grandson, but passed away during the pendency of the case?

My grandmother, who passed away in 2023, executed a conditional gift deed in 2018 in favor of her grandson. (the gift deed is registered and mutation is completed). However, the conditions were not clearly drafted. The property was self-acquired and purchased using proceeds from the sale of her earlier house.

After the gift deed was executed, my grandmother was allegedly neglected by her son and grandson. She made several complaints to different authorities but did not receive meaningful relief. My mother, despite not being included in the gift deed, continued caring for and supporting her.

In 2022, my grandmother filed proceedings against the grandson under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. Unfortunately, she passed away while the matter was still pending.

We would like to understand whether my mother can continue the proceedings on my grandmother’s behalf, what legal remedies may now be available to her, and how practical or feasible it would be to pursue the matter further. I don’t live in the same city as my mother, so I’m may not always be available to help her out.
