I’m planning to visit London for 8 Days with family. Is it a good idea to split my hotel accommodation in two different zones? I was thinking to stay near British Museum (just outside Soho) for 4 nights, and later near South Kensington near Hyde Park? We wanna cover as many attractions as possible

Seeking suggestion.. Im traveling with my wife and 2 kids (2 year and 5 yr old) to London. It's our first trip to UK and we are planning to stay for 7 Days. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to keep 3 days for Edinburgh and 4 days for London, or would that be too rushed to cover London attractions?
