Here’s what gets me, they make it so hard to even get in. The assessments, the vetting, the whole “only the best” thing.
They only accept educated people to the platform and then act like we're all a bunch of idiots that are too dumb to read their terms of service or advocate for ourselves.
They didn't think that one through.
Got banned yesterday along with hundreds of others it seems.
After pushing back hard with a formal demand letter referencing their own terms of service, they finally disclosed the allegation, "timer evasion” detected by an automated system. For me this is completely untrue. I paused Hubstaff even to go to the bathroom for 2 minutes. The fact that hundreds of accounts got flagged simultaneously points to a system detection error.
Section 10(a)(ix) of Outlier’s Terms of Use includes a mass arbitration clause. If 20 or more contractors file with the AAA within a 180 day window, it triggers a separate administrative process that is significantly more costly and complicated for Outlier/Scale AI than individual claims. Given yesterday’s mass ban, hitting that number is easily doable.
There is a required 60 day informal dispute resolution period before filing. That clock starts from your first formal written contact with them, so if you haven’t sent a formal demand letter yet, do it today and document everything. I can share a template.
I am actively organizing affected contributors to file simultaneously. If you were banned yesterday or recently, and had earnings essentially stolen unless eventually paid, and received no legitimate explanation, I want to hear from you.
