Major accident happened and Im not allowed to cancel my trip
Edit: yes I am dumb to not get insurance. Ok you people are so clever to point it out for me. My point is they cannot withheld my money for a service I cant receive. They will already find someone else for that place and make the double money of that room. How are you clever people justify this within the modern consumer rights. Cos you cant.

But I made the mistake of not getting insurance. I paid 330 euros directly. Six hours later, my father called and said my mother had broken her leg, so the trip was cancelled. I called the hotel and said yes, there was no cancellation option, but it hadn't been that long, could they help out of humanity? They said no, at best your money will stay in the account and you can pick new dates. I said, "This woman won't be able to travel for at least 3-4 months anyway, so it has to be next year, who knows what will happen." I hung up cursing cos he said there was nothing I could do.
I filed a dispute with the bank because I didn't receive the authorization code for the withdrawal from my card, They will investigate, but that process takes a long time and I think banks generally don't give positive feedback.
Can booking.com do something about it? I mean it is still 8 days ahead and I wanted to cancel it within 6 hours so they musnt lose any potential at all. And my mother really broken her leg I can prove it.
