Anecdotal experience but my legs seem more fatigued after short hills than long sustained climbs/descents. Just easy running, not sprints. What may be the mechanism for this (assuming relatively similar fitness adaptation for both types of work)? I had a coach who said it was because the body was switching between different types of contractions over and over. Any truth to that?
