How can I make my coworker understand that he needs to stop pulling my hair at work?
I have a coworker (47M) who keeps pulling my hair. I’ve already talked to him about it once. When I first started working here, he was very touchy with me. He would poke me in the side, massage my shoulders, pull my ponytail, and pull on my hair when I wore it down.
At the beginning, I didn’t dare say anything because I was new at the job and he was unofficially training me. Maybe it was naïve of me, but I thought that if I didn’t react to it, it would eventually stop on its own. After a few months, though, it became too much and started making me really uncomfortable. Especially after the massages, I told him clearly that he needed to stop. He did stop for a while, but a few months later he pulled my hair again. The last time he did it, I told him again that he really needs to stop doing that.
Now I’m not really sure what to do. I appreciate him as a colleague, and I don’t think he’s a bad person or that he has bad intentions, but the behavior still makes me uncomfortable.
What do you guys think? How can I make it clear to him that this is really not okay and that he needs to stop for good?
