Keep going it is it time to call it quits?

I’m in my late 20s and have been growing this for about 7 weeks. My ultimate goal was to see if I can achieve a thick beard that isn’t straggly while also growing out my hair. What do you guys think? Can I groom this and keep going? Or should I wait for it to come back thicker in a couple years?
