I’m a latecomer to the show and watching with full hindsight of Scandoval. I know Sandoval was generally liked earlier on, can someone explain why?

I find his communication style really intense and uncomfortable to watch (he ramps up quickly and talk-yells over people), so I’m curious how that came across when it originally aired. Maybe I’m seeing it differently knowing what happens later?
