This morning, while cycling to work, I almost got hit by a tram.
I had just made it to the Meyrin-Village stop, where the road narrows and the tram takes up the whole road when it passes. The tram came up behind me at full speed, rang its bell while right behind me, and forced me to steer right onto the sidewalk in a split second to avoid being hit. I was really shaken!
I always give priority to the tram. But in this situation, the tram was behind me, coming up behind me at full speed and I didn’t notice it until right when it forced me off the road. The driver easily could’ve rang their bell earlier so I could safely get out of the way.
Am I somehow in the wrong? Can I make a complaint about the tram driver?
