I know we recently sent out an airplane to fetch out people in middle east and was wondering if a Singaporean got captured in South Americas or Middle East and Africa etc by cartels and terrorist organisations and caught up in terror acts, what are the chances that we send in SAF to extract them?

Since the world is becoming more dangerous every day, its not really uncommon for ppl to get kidnapped overseas or held hostage by terrorists.

Have there been any incidents i am unaware of?

Hi guys, so I recently got 4 offers for job. One is with AETOS with an inspector role basic ard 4.5k excluding OT, special deployment packages and other packages.

However the shifts are going to be long with possibility of doing OT quite often.

Another offer is from an insurance company promising Annual income of at least 50-70k but thats with commissions and packages. No basic pay. But work flexibility is good. Its OTOT kind

The third offer is from SATS for a senior customer service role with basic pay of 3.5k-4k with aws bonuses and other pacakages. Since I alr have alot of exp with service industry, sales, they said its its skip the normal trainee level and it has career progression to more secure role in a yr or 2 due to me having a degree.

I also applied for a uniform position in public service recently but ik they are gonna take some time to process and stuff.

The issue is bot SATS and AETOS need me to sign a bond for at least to serve at least 1-1.5yrs. I m thinking of going with AETOS since it need me to go for security clearance and if I get accepted into public service, the process might be faster since I already cleared the AETOS one and that I can carry the experience of working as an APO in public service.

But career progression wise, Sats sounds better and wlb will be the FA role but I need fi sit for 4 papers that will take me a month or 2.

So if I get accepted for the public service role, I might have to compensate the bond with AETOS and SATs using my sign on bonus.

What should I go with?

Its kinda confusing with paynow, paylah, Mastercard, visa etc. Some shops only accept paynow, some accept only pay lah, most hawker dont accept master or visa cards some only accept cash.

Isn't going cashless and having a single app for payments better? Also China is implementing palm payment where u dont even need your phone to pay. Just scan your handprint.

That way, u dont have to orry about carrying your wallet or phone again. U can just scan your hand and pay for stuff.

I am a private uni fresh grad planning to sign on with either ICA or SCDF under direct entry sergant. Some replies I have gotten were to apply for an Inspector role or senior officer role first then apply for Sgt again after getting rejected.

The thing is, i heard from some other people that if my application for either Inspector or Sgt got rejected, I will be automatically rejected from the other position. Is this true? Furthermore, I the application process takes a while 3-6 mths. So its gonna be a yr to apply for both if I get rejected for the first one.

Also, will the interviewers suggest a possible pathway or recommendation during the interview? Like going for a Sgt interview and the interviewer suggest me to go for Inspector interview because I have a degree vice versa?

Another issue is, i am unable to take up any FT positions currently as they all need minimum long term contracts like 1.5-2yrs min. And if I quit after 3-6mths, I will need to pay 3-5 myhs of my pay so if I got accepted as Inspector or Sgt, 1/3 of my sign on bonus would be used to pay back as compensation.

I am really at a lost right now. Currently working PT but PT m salary isn't that great. I have been doing part time sales for almost 5mths now. My graduation was last 2 weeks ago where I got my certs.

I could take up some FT job with mediocre pay and sign a contract but I will have to give back 3-5 mths of pay as compensation if I get into ica or scdf within a year.
