Hi all,

I came out yesterday and found my gelding had a pretty large raised bump under his belly. It developed within 24 hours because it wasn’t there the day before when I came out and groomed him. He’s kept in a large paddock alone so he wasn’t kicked etc.

I was thinking it might be an abscess, but there’s no pinpoint. Maybe a large insect bite?

When palpated It’s firm to the touch and it’s definitely causing him discomfort if i touch it.

Any thoughts? Waiting to hear from the vet on their availability and I’m worried about him. 🥲

I did hose him down there for about 10-15 mins which is why it’s wet in the images but it helps you see the bump better.
