i’m not sure where exactly to post this. when i was 10 i had a routine checkup with a new pediatrician. during the appointment, he told my mother that he needed to do an exam of my genitals and asked her permission. she said yes but i was hysterical and very clear that i didn’t want him to examine me. he ended up holding my legs apart and touching and separating my labia. im now in my mid twenties and its haunted me ever since. i want to call it sexual assault because i clearly didn’t consent to being touched (literally kicking and screaming as he examined me) like that and it seemed very excessive/unnecessary for a healthy 10 year old. i hadn’t started my period and i hadn’t had any issues with my vaginal health. is this a normal part of a check up when you reach a certain age? can i call it assault if my mother consented and was in the room? i’ve been trying to figure out if this was normal and okay for almost 15 years now
