I currently have a Delonghi Dedica EC885 which I paired with a hand grinder from TEMU/AliExpress.
The coffee I use is generic store-bought coffee. My espresso shots are so sour to the point that I started choking my machine and getting to a 3:1 ratio. I miserable drinking this coffee.
Which of these purchases should I consider:
- get fresh roasted coffee, stick with the machine and grinder ("Just how different could a high quality hand grinder be to a cheap one?")
- get fresh roasted coffee, stick with the machine and get a Timemore C3S Pro ("Surely the Dedica isn't all that different from other espresso machines, it's all just pressurized water.")
- get fresh roasted coffee, ditch the Dedica, get the AeroPress, get the Timemore C3S Pro ("The Dedica is the problem, I might as well start drinking filter coffee since the AeroPress is so cheap.")
